Simplicity Bearings, taking care of your toughest jobs
PBC Linear combines a standard Simplicity® Linear Plain Bearing with a self-aligning housing to create our self-lubricating Pillow Block. The standard offering consists of an aluminum outer shell with FrelonGOLD® bearing liner, but stainless-steel housings and Frelon® J and Frelon® W liners are also options. The Pillow Block is vibration dampening and is well suited for a wide temperature range of -400°F/ 400°F (-240°C/ 204°C). Machined to tighter tolerances than industry standards, PBC Linear Pillow Blocks offer better accuracy in your linear motion applications.
Simplicity bearings can operate in any orientation. Load capacities will vary on open bearings depending on the orientation in which they are being used.
Standard pillow blocks have 1/2° misalignment from the centerline. This feature is built into the housing with a spherical radius at the midpoint of the block. The self-aligning capability allows for some shaft deflection and misalignment.
Rigid or straight bore housings, which are typically used in single shaft applications, are also available. This does not allow for any self-alignment and provides a very rigid assembly.
