Linear Actuators come in four primary types of linear motion enablement: hydraulic, pneumatic, electric, and mechanical. Hydraulic actuators use compressed fluid for movement, whereas pneumatic actuators are powered by compressed air. PBC Linear focuses on electric and mechanical linear actuators, which are driven by lead screws, ball screws, and belt drives, along with options for motor-driven systems.
Belt-driven actuators allow for long strokes that require minimal maintenance, ball screw-driven variants are for high precision and high load capacity, while lead screw-driven actuators are the most cost-effective option for quiet motion and the use of anti-backlash nuts. These actuators are available in different screw diameters, lead sizes, and lengths, offering configurations with manual controls (such as hand brakes and cranks) alongside electric versions featuring NEMA motors.
For carriage movement, they utilize either Gliding Surface Technology with a self-lubricating parts or
Ball Bearing Profile Rails that work well with cantilevered loads and/or the need for speed.
Miniature and heavy-duty actuators are available, the latter supporting loads up to 83,400 N (18,750 lb) and strokes reaching 6,000 mm (236 in).
