Plain Linear Bearing Slide Actuators

Plain linear bearing pillow blocks are incorporated into the flat-top carriage of these ball screw-driven linear slide actuators, allowing the carriage to glide along two parallel steel guide shafts while the center ball screw provides precise driven motion. NEMA motor mount kits are available for motorized integration. Each Simplicity® pillow block contains self-lubricating FrelonGOLD® bearing liners, which provide Gliding Surface Technology™ for maintenance-free operation, vibration damping, and reliable performance in harsh, high-temperature, or contaminated environments.

The ball screw drive provides efficient rotary-to-linear motion with accurate positioning and smooth travel, while the Simplicity® pillow block guidance helps support heavy normal loads without metal-to-metal contact. Because the guide system uses plain bearing technology instead of linear ball bearings, it reduces noise, tolerates dirt and debris, and avoids the risk of catastrophic ball-bearing failure. Optional liner materials include FDA-compliant Frelon®W and Frelon®J for corrosive chemical environments.

These linear slide actuators are available with NEMA motor mounts, motor bracket kits, drive stubs, or hand crank options with a ball screw lock and other accessories. Motor bracket kits are available for NEMA 23 and 34 motors, with additional N42, 56, and 143 bracket options. Low-profile and high-profile systems are available, along with linear ball bearing pillow block versions for applications requiring rolling-element guidance.

Maximum stroke length is 3,454 mm (136 in), with rail shaft diameters from 12.7 mm (0.5 in) to 50.8 mm (2.0 in) and shaft lengths up to 2,440 mm (96 in). The system supports carriage speeds up to 0.457 m/s (18 in/s), normal loads up to 83,000 N (18,750 lbf), and an operating temperature range of -240°C to 240°C (-400°F to 400°F). Optional shaft materials include alloy steel, anodized aluminum, 440 stainless steel, and chrome-plated 303 stainless steel. Each system includes an aluminum alloy mounting plate and Simplicity® pillow block assemblies.
