Uni-Guide linear slide actuators are lead screw-driven linear guides that combine a self-lubricating plain bearing carriage with an integrated drive mechanism to move and accurately position loads along a single axis. Built on PBC Linear's Simplicity® Gliding Surface Technology (GST), the actuators feature FrelonGOLD® PTFE bearing liners bonded beneath the carriage, allowing it to glide along a ceramic-coated aluminum rail without metal-to-metal contact. This design eliminates external bearing lubrication while reducing friction, wear, vibration, and maintenance requirements.
The Uni-Guide's two-piece rail-and-carriage construction incorporates parallel guidance surfaces into a single rail, eliminating the alignment requirements of separate guide shafts and reducing component count. The self-lubricating FrelonGOLD® liner provides quiet, consistent gliding motion while damping vibration and shock loads. Without recirculating ball bearings, the carriage tolerates dust, particulates, temperature extremes, and washdown environments where rolling-element guides may become contaminated or bind.
A precision lead screw converts motor rotation into controlled linear carriage movement, making Uni-Guide actuators suitable for applications requiring repeatable positioning. Available slide widths of 75mm, 100mm, and 125mm accommodate different installation and load requirements, while configurable rail lengths, screw leads, and motor mounts provide flexibility for machine integration. NEMA 17, 23, and 34 motor mounting options support compatible stepper or servo drives, with manual hand-crank and brake accessories available for selected configurations.
