Ball screws and lead screws convert rotary motion to linear motion using different mechanisms. Ball screws use helical grooves to guide ball bearings in a nut for low-friction operation. Our precision-rolled 1050 steel screws, produced in the USA, come in 6, 8, and 10 mm diameters with 1, 2, and 2.5 mm leads, offering six metric combinations. Assemblies include cylindrical or flanged nuts with a multi-liner ball return system for recirculation and polymer seals for contaminant protection. Lead screws use sliding thread-nut contact for linear motion. PTFE-coated stainless steel screws offer corrosion resistance, low wear, and minimal flaking; they have diameters of 6, 8, 10, 12, and 16 mm and many lead sizes with round or triangular nuts, some including Constant-Force Anti-Backlash nuts to reduce play. Select ball screw and lead screw assemblies are compatible with NEMA 08–23 motors or hand cranks, enabling them to function as screw actuators.
