Self-Lubricating Anti-Backlash Nuts

Lead screws, AKA leadscrews, are precision-threaded steel rods used with a mating nut to convert rotary motion into controlled linear movement. As the screw turns, the nut travels along the threaded shaft, producing linear positioning without the recirculating balls used in a ball screw. Lead screw selection typically depends on screw diameter, lead, travel speed, thrust load, positioning requirements, mounting arrangement, and whether backlash control is needed.

PBC Linear precision lead screws are available in metric and imperial sizes with multiple lead options for matching different speed, force, and travel requirements. They are manufactured using German roll-threading technology and finished with a proprietary low-friction coating designed to reduce friction, improve efficiency, and resist surface flaking. Lead screw assemblies can also be paired with anti-backlash nuts made from proprietary Frelon® PTFE-based composite for self-lubricating, low-maintenance operation and consistent preload.
