Die Set Linear Bearings are precision-bored, industrial-strength linear motion bearings designed to travel along round shafts for industrial tooling, automation, and manufacturing applications. Featuring a durable aluminum body, they are engineered to handle very heavy static loads and withstand the repeated thumping forces generated by heavy machinery such as stamping and forming presses.
These aluminum die set bushings have the FrelonGOLD® liner bonded directly into the bearing bore and differ from steel mounted die set linear bearing assemblies, which use a rugged steel housing containing a self-aligning Simplicity plain bearing insert.
The Simplicity® line of die set plain linear bearings features an inner diameter bonded with a self-lubricating Frelon liner: standard FrelonGOLD for general use, Frelon J for corrosive chemical resistance, or Frelon W for FDA-compliant applications. This provides oil-free, maintenance-free operation, vibration damping, smooth motion, and extended service life. Designed to be size-interchangeable with industry-standard die sets for seamless integration and quick replacement, these bearings support static load capacities up to 166,000 lb (740 kN) and operate within a wide temperature range of -400°F to +400°F (-240°C to 204°C).
Available in inch sizes from 3/16 in to 4 in, ISO metric sizes from 5mm to 80mm, and JIS sizes, these die set bearings offer standard ID clearance of 0.0005 in per side or compensated clearance of 0.0015 in per side. Standard OD and self-aligning OD options are available to help prevent binding in certain applications. With O-ring and retaining ring grooves, optional stainless steel variants for corrosion resistance, and compatibility with end-supported shafting, these bearings provide precise alignment and durable performance in demanding die set applications.
