Cam Followers (Track Rollers or Cam Rollers)
Cam followers are roller bearings (track rollers) used to guide and support moving loads along cams or linear tracks. The term cam roller is commonly used by buyers to describe both main cam follower styles. Stud-type cam followers include an integrated threaded stud (shaft) that allows the bearing to mount directly into a tapped hole or bracket. The stud acts as the central mounting shaft for the rolling bearing. Yoke-type cam followers consist of the roller wheel without a shaft and are mounted on a separate pin or shaft inside a yoke or housing that is obtained separately. In this product family, cam rollers are supplied as complete stud-type cam follower assemblies with either concentric or eccentric studs. Concentric cam followers are recommended when mounting holes can be machined to tight tolerances (+0.0000″ / −0.0005″). Eccentric cam followers are used when precise alignment cannot be maintained. Their offset stud design allows positional adjustment during installation. Available in steel, chrome-plated, and stainless-steel variants, these cam followers are easy to mount and well suited for applications involving moderate loads and shock. Sealed bearing designs help retain lubrication and protect against contamination. A wide range of sizes is available to suit different mounting and load requirements.
