BSR Series – Non-Motorized Assemblies with Flanged and Cylindrical Nuts

Ball screws, also known as ball screw assemblies, use a threaded screw and a ball nut (cylindrical or flanged) with recirculating balls to convert rotary motion into low-friction linear motion. BSR Miniature Ball Screws from PBC Linear are non-motorized precision ball screw and nut assemblies, designed to be paired with a customer-selected motor or drive system. Designed and manufactured in the USA, these assemblies are available in six metric size combinations (diameter × lead), providing a compact and efficient solution for a wide range of linear motion applications.

Each BSR assembly is engineered for durability and consistent performance, with static axial load capacities up to 2.144 kN (482 lb). The nut incorporates an integrated multi-liner ball return system that promotes smooth, efficient ball recirculation, contributing to excellent motion precision and reliability. Polymer wipers on both ends of the nut help protect against debris ingress and support long service life. Available in Grade 5, 7, or 10 accuracy, BSR Miniature Ball Screws are well suited for applications requiring precise, compact, and flexible linear motion solutions where the motor and drive architecture is selected separately

BSR Miniature Metric Ball Screw with Cylindrical Nut

Ball screws with cylindrical-style nuts allow for a more compact assembly design than their flange counterpart. They mount into specially designed housings, while a keyway in the nut mates with the housing to keep the nut from rotating within the housing.

Ball screws with flanged ball nuts are mounted to a plate or block using bolts or screws are secured through the provided holes. Flange-style nuts can often be easier to remove and install in an assembly, provided the mounting screws are easily accessible.
