UGT Tall Profile Uni Guide Linear Slide | Self-Lubricating

Linear Guide with Gliding Surface Technology (GST)

Linear Guide systems like the Tall Profile Uni-Guide (UGT) Linear Slide offer oil-free, smooth, and quiet motion while retaining the benefits of the standard two-piece Uni-Guide in a compact design. With a 40 mm profile, it provides enhanced rigidity, making it ideal for longer unsupported lengths. This system is optimal for clean rooms and contaminated environments, excelling in demanding conditions such as extreme temperatures, heavy particulates, wash-down scenarios, and significant vibrations. The Tall Profile Uni-Guide Linear Slide Rail is available in various off-the-shelf and custom lengths up to 2,750 mm.

Performance Benefits of Tall Profile Uni-Guide Linear Slide

  • Maintenance-Free Operation: FrelonGOLD® self-lubricating liner provides low wear, high load capacities
  • No Catastrophic Failure:  No metal to metal contact for vibration damping & shock resistance
  • Tight Tolerances & Alignment Accuracy: Patent pending milling operation creates a precision machined rail and carriage surface
  • Optimized for Wash Down: Angled rail design ensures optimum wash down and prevents buildup of particulates and chemicals
  • Size Interchangeable: Easy drop-in replacement for industry standard sizes
  • Flexible Mounting Pre-drilled tapped holes and t-slots provide mounting flexibility and ease of assembly
  • Splatter Proof: Hard coat anodized rail prevents contaminants from sticking
  • Three Different Carriage Lengths: 100 mm, 150 mm, and 200 mm
  • Additional Accessories: Internal Lubrication via felt wick & Hand Brake for holding position
Precision & Compensated Clearances for Uni-Guide

Carriage Configuration Options

Running Clearance

Precision Series: Ceramic-coated rails and carriages offer superior corrosion resistance. The FrelonGOLD self-lubricating liner ensures optimal performance, supporting the highest loads, best wear life, and fastest speeds. Designed with the most precise running clearance for high-precision applications.

Compensated Series: Similar to the Precision Series but with additional clearance to accommodate misalignment.

Use the product configurator to determine the ideal running clearance for your linear motion application.

Design Considerations for UGA

Cantilevered Loads

The carriage will bind if the 2:1 ratio for cantilevered loads and drive forces is exceeded. This principle does not depend on load or force. The 2:1 Bearing Ratio defines the maximum allowable ratio of moment arm distance to bearing length that prevents binding or motion hindrance. It is often represented numerically as "2:1," where "2x" is the moment arm distance and "1x" is the bearing length. For example, if 2x equals 10 inches, then 1x must equal 5 inches.
