UGT Tall Profile Uni-Guide Linear Slide

A new solution for oil-free, smooth and quiet linear motion, the Tall Profile Uni-Guide (UGT) Linear Slide maintains the proven advantages of the standard two-piece Uni-Guide in a simple, compact assembly. The 40 mm profile provides increased rigidity which is essential for longer unsupported lengths. Optimal for contaminated environments and clean rooms, the linear rail and carriage excels in demanding extremes including a wide range of temperatures, heavy particulates, wash-down environments, and extreme vibrations. The Tall Profile Uni-Guide Linear Slide Rail comes in a variety of off-the-shelf and custom lengths up to 2,750 mm.

Running Clearance

Precision Series: Ceramic-coated rails and carriages offer superior corrosion resistance. The FrelonGOLD self-lubricating liner ensures optimal performance, supporting the highest loads, best wear life, and fastest speeds. Designed with the most precise running clearance for high-precision applications.

Compensated Series: Similar to the Precision Series but with additional clearance to accommodate misalignment.

Design Considerations for UGA

Cantilevered Loads

The carriage will bind if the 2:1 ratio for cantilevered loads and drive forces is exceeded. This principle does not depend on load or force. The 2:1 Bearing Ratio defines the maximum allowable ratio of moment arm distance to bearing length that prevents binding or motion hindrance. It is often represented numerically as "2:1," where "2x" is the moment arm distance and "1x" is the bearing length. For example, if 2x equals 10 inches, then 1x must equal 5 inches.
