Self-Lubricating UGT Series

Tall Profile Uni-Guide™ linear slides (UGT) are linear guides that use self-lubricating FrelonGOLD® undercarriage liners to provide smooth, oil-free motion with no metal-to-metal contact. The carriage glides on the rail through Gliding Surface Technology™, helping dampen vibration, absorb shock loads, and operate with minimal maintenance in extreme conditions such as heat, dirt, heavy particulates, washdown exposure, and continuous vibration. With no rolling elements to jam, seize, or catastrophically fail, the UGT Series is well suited for applications where contamination or harsh environments can shorten the life of traditional recirculating ball guides.

The 40 mm tall rail profile increases rigidity compared with lower-profile linear slides, making UGT ideal for longer unsupported lengths and applications that require stronger rail support in a compact design. It retains the standard two-piece Uni-Guide rail-and-carriage construction for straightforward installation and reliable alignment.

Tall Profile Uni-Guide linear slides are available in off-the-shelf and custom rail lengths up to 2,750 mm. They provide a durable, maintenance-free linear guide solution for automation, packaging, medical, laboratory, inspection, clean room, washdown, and industrial motion applications.

Running Clearance

Precision Series: Ceramic-coated rails and carriages offer superior corrosion resistance. The FrelonGOLD self-lubricating liner ensures optimal performance, supporting the highest loads, best wear life, and fastest speeds. Designed with the most precise running clearance for high-precision applications.

Compensated Series: Similar to the Precision Series but with additional clearance to accommodate misalignment.

Design Considerations for UGA

Cantilevered Loads

The carriage will bind if the 2:1 ratio for cantilevered loads and drive forces is exceeded. This principle does not depend on load or force. The 2:1 Bearing Ratio defines the maximum allowable ratio of moment arm distance to bearing length that prevents binding or motion hindrance. It is often represented numerically as "2:1," where "2x" is the moment arm distance and "1x" is the bearing length. For example, if 2x equals 10 inches, then 1x must equal 5 inches.
