Steel Rail and Steel Rail Plus linear guide systems use high-strength aluminum carriages (sliders) riding on cold-drawn, hardened steel rails for wear resistance, durability, and smooth, low-friction motion. Adjustable pre-load allows tuning of system rigidity, while concentric and eccentric cam roller bearings provide stable movement. Integrated oil-soaked felt wipers deliver continuous lubrication, and a built-in scraper blade removes dust and debris from the raceways.
A linear guide rail is the fixed track that defines motion, while the carriage (slider) is the moving component that supports the load. Rails feature a U-shaped ground steel profile with pre-drilled mounting holes typically spaced at 80 mm. Mounting options include counterbore holes (flat-bottom pockets for thin-head screws that sit flush or below the surface) and countersunk holes (angled seats for tapered screws that sit fully flush).
Steel Rail Plus adds misalignment compensation for parallel rail systems through guiding, floating, and rotating carriages. Guiding carriages define the motion path, floating carriages absorb spacing errors, and rotating carriages allow angular adjustment when rails are not perfectly parallel, left and right or up and down.. Together, they enable alignment across two planes, reducing stress and preventing binding. Corrosion-resistant rails and flexible mounting options support use in robotics, material handling, and general automation requiring reliable, heavy-duty linear motion.
