Sleeve bearings, also known as sleeve bushings, are small, thin-walled plain bearings designed to promote smooth rotational or linear movement by reducing friction between rotating or sliding shafts and surrounding machinery components. Available in both regular unflanged and flanged styles, these compact bushings are well suited for tight spaces and demanding motion applications. PBC Linear sleeve bearings feature a self-lubricating, maintenance-free FrelonGOLD® liner bonded to the inner diameter for smooth, quiet motion and reliable performance in harsh conditions, including high heat, dirt, shock loads, and constant vibration. The standard shell material is aluminum, with optional stainless steel bearing shells available for FDA-compliant or corrosion-resistant applications. The sleeve bearing lineup includes PS inch and PSM metric unflanged bearings, as well as PSF inch and PSFM metric flanged bearings.
Optional liner materials include Frelon®J for corrosive chemical environments and Frelon®W for FDA-compliant applications. Sleeve bearings are available in inch and metric sizing options from 3/16 in to 3 in and 5 mm to 80 mm. They can be installed by press fitting or by slip fit with epoxy.
