Track roller bearing pillow blocks are linear bearing assemblies consisting of an aluminum housing with one or two sets of three opposing track rollers, or cam rollers, that travel along a continuously supported round shaft for high-load, long-travel linear motion. The housing is open on the underside so it can straddle the shaft and clear the continuous support rail beneath it. Each three-roller set includes a fixed side roller, an adjustable eccentric side roller, and a top support roller, while the housing may be compact for single- or double-set designs or extended to a twin size for greater support and stability. The black oxide coated 52100 chrome steel track rollers run directly on the shaft, providing smooth, quiet motion with high load capacity and low rolling resistance. The self-aligning cam roller arrangement helps accommodate installation tolerances and maintain consistent shaft contact as the pillow block travels. Unlike ball bearings, the track rollers can push contaminants aside or roll over small debris rather than recirculating it through the bearing, making them well suited for dirty industrial environments. PBC Linear roller bearing pillow blocks are available in Single (SPB), Double (DPB), and Twin (TWN) configurations. SPB pillow blocks use one set of three opposing cam rollers in a compact housing for applications requiring a single bearing carriage. DPB pillow blocks maintain the same general housing footprint while adding a second roller set, providing twice the dynamic load rating of the corresponding SPB. Twin roller pillow blocks also use two roller sets, but place them in an extended housing equivalent to two single pillow blocks joined together, increasing the distance between the roller sets for greater support and stability.
The pillow blocks run on steel linear shafts from 0.5 in to 3 in diameter, with dynamic load capacities from approximately 800 lb to 12,500 lb. Continuous shaft support reduces deflection over long travel distances, while standard mounting hole patterns are interchangeable with many recirculating ball bearing pillow blocks. Compared with linear ball bearings, roller bearing pillow blocks can provide substantially higher load capacity, quieter operation, and smooth travel on standard or joined rail systems, making them well suited for industrial automation, material handling, machine construction, transfer systems, and other heavy-load linear motion applications.
