Open Self-Aligning Linear Ball Bearings
Ways to Order
Open self-aligning linear ball bearings combine a support-rail clearance opening with floating hardened steel raceway inserts that allow the bearing to rock inside the housing and compensate for misalignment in the application. Using recirculating ball bearings for low-friction travel on continuously supported round shafts, the Precision Plus® series from PBC Linear provides up to 1/2° of self-alignment in all directions to help reduce binding and maintain smooth motion when shafting or mounting surfaces are not perfectly aligned. The high-strength polymer outer shell keeps the assembly lightweight and durable, while the hardened steel ball raceway inserts provide strength and reliable rolling contact. Available only in inch sizes from 0.25 in to 2 in ID, these open self-aligning linear ball bearings are size-interchangeable with industry-standard super-type ball bearings. They support static load capacities up to 2,500 lb (11,000 N) and dynamic load capacities up to 2,200 lb (9,700 N), with a low coefficient of friction for smooth, efficient linear motion.
