Open Linear Ball Bearings
Ways to Order
Open-shell linear ball bearings use recirculating ball bearings for low-friction travel on round linear shafts with continuous shaft support. The open shell provides clearance for the shaft support rail, making these bearings ideal for longer spans or higher-load applications where the shaft must be supported along its length. Built with a heat-treated alloy steel shell for strength and a polymer resin retainer to help reduce noise and friction, open linear ball bearings deliver smooth, reliable performance in cantilevered or overhung load applications because they are not subject to the same 2:1 binding limitation found in plain bearings. Closed and adjustable versions are also available in the main category for applications that require end-supported shafting or running-clearance adjustment. Available in inch, metric, and JIS sizing options, these linear ball bearings are interchangeable with industry-standard designs for easy replacement or system upgrades.
