Ground Ball Screws – Square Nut

Square nut ground ball screw assemblies convert rotary motion into precise linear travel using recirculating balls that move through the mating helical grooves of a precision-ground screw shaft and compact square ball nut. Unlike flanged ball nuts, the square nut uses a flat-sided body that fits into a matching square pocket or housing to help prevent rotation while reducing the mounting footprint in tight machine envelopes. Precision grinding provides tighter control of lead accuracy than precision rolling, making these assemblies well suited for applications where repeatability and low backlash matter. Grade 5 provides accurate, repeatable motion for general-purpose automation, while Grade 3 is the higher-accuracy choice for applications requiring tighter lead tolerance and more precise positioning. Available in 6 mm and 8 mm diameters with a 1 mm lead and overall lengths from 90 mm to 160 mm, these assemblies provide dynamic load ratings from 560 N to 650 N and static load ratings from 950 N to 1,300 N.
