Closed Self-Aligning Linear Ball Bearings
Ways to Order
Closed Precision Plus® self-aligning linear ball bearings use recirculating ball bearings for smooth, low-friction travel on end-supported round linear shafts. The closed design fully surrounds the shaft, making these bearings well suited for applications that do not require continuous shaft support clearance. Their self-aligning capability comes from floating hardened steel raceway inserts inside a lightweight, high-strength polymer outer shell. These inserts allow the bearing’s rolling contact surfaces to shift slightly and align with the shaft under load, correcting misalignment up to 1/2° in all directions. This helps reduce binding, edge loading, and uneven ball contact when shafting, housings, or mounting surfaces are not perfectly aligned. Available only in inch sizes from 0.25 in to 2 in ID, the self-aligning linear ball bearings are size-interchangeable with industry-standard super-type linear ball bearings. They support static load capacities up to 3,000 lb (13,300 N) and dynamic load capacities up to 2,400 lb (10,600 N), with a low coefficient of friction for smooth, efficient linear motion.
