Heavy-Duty Ball Bearing Linear Slides - SDC Series
Ways to Order
Heavy-duty ball bearing linear slides are guided linear motion assemblies in which an internal carriage travels inside a fixed C-shaped rail instead of telescoping beyond the rail like a full-extension drawer slide. The carriage carries the load, while a separate precision ball cage holds the steel balls between the carriage and rail surfaces. As the carriage moves, the ball cage floats between the carriage and rail and typically travels about half the carriage distance. This rolling contact provides low-friction guidance, distributes load across the bearing surfaces, and reduces wear. Because the carriage remains captured inside the rail envelope, the system provides contained linear motion with high rigidity and load support.
PBC Linear SDC Series slides use hardened steel rail and precision ball-cage technology in a fixed C-shaped linear guide configuration. Integrated mechanical end stops limit carriage travel and help protect internal components. The C-shaped rail can also support multiple internal carriages on a single rail, allowing modular and multi-carriage systems for heavy industrial motion. The enclosed geometry helps shield the rolling elements from debris while maintaining consistent guided travel.
SDC Series slides are available with single- or double-direction travel, strokes up to 1,310mm, rail lengths from 130mm to 1,970mm, and load capacities up to 65,272N. Typical applications include heavy industrial platforms, large access panels, robotics staging systems, machine access systems, and other equipment requiring high load capacity, durability, and motion contained within a fixed rail.
