Ball Screws with External Threaded Nuts

Miniature ball screw assemblies with externally threaded cylindrical nuts combine Grade 10 precision-rolled steel screw shafts with compact nuts that mount directly into matching internally threaded housings or machine components. Unlike smooth cylindrical CNS nuts with polymer wipers, these TRS nuts use right-facing external mounting threads as standard and omit wipers for simpler, space-saving integration.
Screw diameters include 6mm, 8mm, and 10mm, with 1mm, 2mm, and 2.5mm lead options depending on diameter. Lead is the axial distance the nut travels during one complete screw rotation; smaller leads support finer positioning, while larger leads provide more travel per revolution. Grade 10 precision rolling provides consistent lead accuracy over the screw length for reliable linear motion.
Standard-fit nuts have no more than 0.05mm backlash. Transitional-fit nuts reduce play to no more than 0.008mm backlash and may include slight preload for more responsive direction changes. Custom screw lengths, screw-end machining, and left-facing external nut threads are available through the custom configurator.

Cylindrical nuts that have external threads do not have wipers. The static and dynamic load ratings of PBC Linear ball screws were determined by the ISO 3408 standard calculations. The dynamic load rating, Ca, is the load at which 90% of properly lubricated identical ball screws will reach 1 x 106 revolutions. The static load rating, Coa, is an axial static load which will produce a permanent deformation at contact points of the steel balls to ball grooves equal to 0.01% of the ball diameter.
