Sleeve Bearings - Unflanged
Ways to Order
Sleeve bearings, also called sleeve bushings, are extremely thin-walled plain bearings designed to minimize friction and support smooth motion between shafts and surrounding machinery components; depending on the bearing design, they may use a bonded low-friction liner along the inner diameter or a self-lubricating material throughout. Sleeve bushings from PBC Linear use a bonded FrelonGOLD® liner along the inner diameter to provide low-friction, self-lubricating performance for linear, rotary, or oscillating movement. Some sleeve bearings include a flange, which is a raised rim or shoulder at one end of the bearing used for positioning, retention, or light thrust support. The products in this subcategory are unflanged, meaning they have a straight cylindrical profile without that flange. These unflanged sleeve bushings are designed for tight spaces and allow maintenance-free linear and rotational movement while helping reduce friction, wear, and vibration. They are well suited for harsh, dirty, shock-loaded, or high-temperature environments, with an operating temperature range of -400°F to +400°F (-240°C to +204°C).
The unflanged product category includes PS inch-series bushings and PSM metric-series bushings, while flanged bushing part numbers are PSF for inch sizes and PSFM for metric sizes. Available bushing ID sizes range from 4.76 mm (0.19 in) to 76.2 mm (3 in). Optional liner materials include Frelon®J for corrosive chemical resistance and Frelon®W for FDA-compliant applications. The bearing shell can also be upgraded to stainless steel where additional corrosion resistance or FDA compliance is required.
