The closed shell is used on end-supported round shafts, while the twin body resembles two standard blocks positioned end to end for greater bearing surface, added shaft support, and higher load-carrying capacity. These inch-series PBC Linear pillow block bearings use bonded FrelonGOLD® liners for maintenance-free harsh-duty operation through dirt, contamination, vibration, shock loads, debris ingress, and temperature extremes. For self-alignment, the inserted bearing can tilt slightly within the aluminum alloy housing, compensating for up to 1/2° misalignment from centerline in all directions and helping reduce binding from minor shaft deflection or parallel shaft misalignment. Each twin housing includes 8 pre-positioned mounting holes for 3/8" or M10 bolts, making these pillow block bearings especially valuable when replacement downtime costs more than the bearing itself.
