PLA Series linear actuators are lead screw-driven positioning systems built around a compact 55 mm x 55 mm aluminum body profile for precise, repeatable linear motion. The actuator combines a lead screw drive with preloaded ball bearing cam rollers that run on Integral-V™ hardened steel raceways, creating smooth, rigid guidance with low friction and strong positional control.
Each aluminum actuator body is machined using SIMO® — Simultaneous Integral Milling Operation — to produce side and bottom mounting surfaces that are flat, perpendicular, and consistent for accurate installation. This helps simplify alignment during assembly and supports repeatable actuator performance in automation, positioning, packaging, inspection, and light industrial motion applications.
The PLA Series is designed to resist contamination during operation. A stainless steel seal strip magnetically seals against the actuator body, helping keep dust, debris, and other particles from entering the actuator. This protective strip supports longer service life and more reliable operation in production environments where exposed lead screw-driven systems may be vulnerable to contamination.
Dual and extended carriage options are available to increase load and moment capacity when additional support is required. With its compact square profile, lead screw-driven motion, precision cam-roller guidance, SIMO® machined mounting surfaces, and contamination-resistant sealing, the PLA Series provides a durable actuator platform for applications requiring accurate guided motion in a compact package.
