Available in inch and metric sizes as either solid round shafting or pre-drilled shafting for easier mounting, the product families include NIL inch solid shafts, NIPDL inch pre-drilled shafts, NIM metric solid shafts, and NIPDM metric pre-drilled shafts. Case-hardened 1060 carbon steel provides a hard, economical bearing raceway for linear motion systems where corrosion resistance is not the primary requirement. For wet, chemical, washdown, or other corrosive environments, consider case-hardened stainless steel or ceramic-coated aluminum shafting instead. 316 stainless steel shafting is intended for use with Frelon J bearings and is not recommended as a raceway for linear ball bearings.
