Applied Cobotics is the factory of the future initiative at PBC Linear. As cobots have been implemented at specific machine stations, Derek Neises found out early on that the cobot was limited by how many parts could sit within reach. The engineering team went to work to design and build the Automated Storage and Retrieval System, ASRS (Previously: Automated Material Lift, AML). The ASRS cycles through multiple trays of material expanding the run time for the cobot at the machine center. This enables the end user to run their machine lights out for up to 24 hours of unattended operation.
